I have lived in different parts of the world and the USA and now call Ponte Vedra Beach, FL my home. The best part of my life was taking time off to be a stay at home mom and be actively involved as an volunteer in my children’s school science competitions, multi-cultural events, serving on the multicultural advisory board, friends of the arts (Theater and band) and as a section mom for ballet productions. We raised both our kids as vegetarians and that has helped me to understand how to navigate the school and college cafeteria for kids with special meal requests. In my free time some of the things I love to do are cook for my family and friends, go to the local farmer’s market to get fresh produce and support local farmers, tend to our garden and taking care of plants in the food forest we are trying to grow in our yard, biking, walking on the beach, taking photos of food and nature, and if time permits dab a little in oil painting.

Multi-Generational
Plant-Based

What drove me to become an RD was my desire to spread my generational knowledge of plant-based food. I was struck by the lack of culturally appropriate dietetic care to cater to my family, friends, and clients who follow a plant-based diet; the educational knowledge and experience combined with what my family has been practicing for many generations help me to come up with solutions that can be effective and sustainable.

Client Centered

Every time my family or I went to the dietitian I would research and find out foods that can be more culturally acceptable. I understand the frustration for someone starting out new in the plant-based journey and will be able to assist in their journey. I have lived and interacted with people from different regions and cultures in the USA and can relate to people from different backgrounds, which will be an asset to find a culturally appropriate dietary intervention to manage health..
